Valden Panorama, Molde

Travelled: 49km
Stay: Valden Panorama, Molde. Free parking with amazing views 62.74919 7.13019

We started the morning with a pleasant and very quiet walk around deserted Bud. It was Sunday after all.

We read on the internet that the reason why there are so many red houses was that traditionally it was the cheapest colour to make. Next was yellow and then white being the most expensive.

We saw plenty of these little houses in front yards all over Norway.

We then followed the coast to Molde but turned off just before to head up to Valden which is only 4km from the town centre. There are many hiking trails along the route but we continued to the end of the road and to a beautiful panorama view of 222 peaks (so we read somewhere).

We were very lucky it was a clear sky and so we could see them all!
We got ourselves a great spot and decided that this was it for the day.

We enjoyed some lovely walks and watched the sky cloud up and rain over the peaks (but not on us).

Not only did we have a great view of the mountains but also of the fjord and Molde so we watched the ferries and boats sail around and the planes take off and land at the airport.

Below is the airport runway...

In between all this we managed to do some washing and a bit of maintenance on Bluey.

  2. Have been trying to catch up with your blogs since arriving in Sydney. What an amazing country Norway is, stunning photos! Went to Essendon/Swans game at the SCG on Friday, barracked for Bombers of course but that didn't help them unfortunately. Carry on enjoying your travels, stay safe! xx

    1. Cheers Mike and Jan, it's a beautiful country with great vistas around every corner! Pity about the Bombers it would have been a good game to watch though. Have a lovely time with the family in Sydney, hopefully it's warmer than Bathurst! X
