The heavy drizzle seemed to have set in from last night. We managed a walk this morning before leaving our spot in Sund and saw what happened to the dry fish next...stacked up in whare houses being readied for shipment.
We drove along the coast on the E6 and stopped to have a walk around Hamnøy, a fishing village converted to a holiday style resort.
We then drove through Reine and had a pit stop at the service point out on the breakwater.
After taking a few photos of the village with the mountain backdrop we continued on to the end of the road to the village of Å.
Unfortunately the weather prompted our decision to catch the ferry to Bodo and thus concluding our time on the Lofoten Islands. We have reached our half way mark in our travels and we must push on as there is still ALOT of Norway to be explored. We back tracked to Moskenes and lined up to catch the 11am ferry arriving in Bodo at 3pm. Costing 1922kr (€210) with Mark getting a 50% seniors discount.
Goodbye Lofoten, Hello Bodo
We didn't tardy to make our way to Salstraumen 33km away. We were very fortunate to get a spot and then to see the the worlds strongest tidal current caused by 400 million cubic metres of water flowing through a 3km, 150m wide strait up to speeds of 20 knots.
