Goodbye Northern Norway

Travelled:261km and 1 ferry
Stay: Tunnsjøelv picnic stop off the E6, WC 64.7138 12.7987

Today is our 7th day of rain. We are still seeing some beautiful scenery but we are unmotivated to go on any hikes.

After stopping briefly at Hellaga Rest Stop we kept on driving along the Fv17 taking the ferry from Nesna-Levang 136nok (6m discount ie got away with it again...saving us 150nok).

Feeling safe with this on board.

Shortly after we took a 10km tunnel with a toll of 65kr and then further on another section of the road as we approached Mosjoen, had a 27kr toll. There are signs advising of the toll but there are not many other road options here. There are no toll booths only cameras that take photos of your vehicle and then send you the bill. It is not necessary to register the vehicle, but we decided to do so to make it easier to receive bills by email and pay by Internet (www.epcplc.com).

At the shell station in Mosjoen there was a free service point (65.86361 13.19464). We did a quick shop at our favourite supermarket Rema 1000 (particularly like their fish soup for 49kr).

We then went to walk around the historical area called Sjøgata, where there are many 19th century wooden buildings.

Chair is just a tad too big for Mark

An interesting subfloor design..

We then continued south on the E6 passing plenty of waterfalls that are at their peak at the moment due to the several days of rain we have had. We stopped at Laksforsen which also had a cafe and souvenir shop, to look at the falls (65.62169 13.30366 possible stop).

Further on we stopped again at a picnic spot to admire the waterfall.

We had brief photo stop at the North/South Norway Border as there was a signed archway over the road to mark the occasion with a parking area with WC and cafe (130nok to stop overnight).

We drove on through the rain until we saw this picnic spot and decided it was enough for the day.
