Langoya Island Norway

Travelled: 201km
Stay: Near Fleines, Langoya Is. Picnic spot, bin lovely views. 68.6518 14.8909

Mark managed to stay up until 1am to watch the midnight sun 'set'. It actually never went below the horizon but travelled along it and then started rising again. He managed a few photos before hitting the sack!

Later that morning ie 9am we were heading south on the 976 and promptly left Andoya Island.

Our French neighbours suggested Nyksund as a place to visit, so over the bridge we went through Sortland and up via Myre and then along a narrow gravel road to this old fishing village. We stopped in the carpark just before the causeway and went for a walk around. The tourist season hasn't quite hit here and it was a peaceful place.

After lunch we explored a few tracks on the hill nearby.
As it was still mid afternoon decided to head off and explore more of the island.

The gravel road we travelled

So far the largest fish racks we have seen..

So we back tracked and then took the 885 along the western side south towards Sandnes.

There weren't many opportunities to stop so when we saw a nice picnic area just before Fleines we took it. We looked out on Eidsfjorden with some beautiful mountains as a back drop and enjoyed the sunshine.
