To Senja Island Norway

Travelled: 235km
Stay:Botnhamn, Senja Island. Free parking at a small beach, picnic area, bins next to cemetery. 69.5574 17.9064

We continued our journey down the E6, once again enjoying the beautiful views of snow capped mountains and fjords.

They are working on lots of tunnels here.

At one stage we actually ventured inland a bit passing some frozen lakes along the way.
We decided to stop and have a look at the Sami shop and I tried on a few hats that would keep me warm. After spending a few Nk on a beanie and gloves we were on our way.

Next to the river in Olsborg we went to the very convenient and free service point before heading to Finnsnes.

We took the very high bridge over the water to Senja Island which has a National Tourist Route to follow.
If you ever wondered what the colour was on all those red buildings.....well here it is!
Service point at the port.

The route officially starts in Botnhamn where we stopped to have a look at the ferry.
No whales in sight!

Some serious snow plough equipment.

Park4night had a spot up the road a bit, so we decided to have a look and decided to stay with the other Finnish MH.
Nature patterns!
I think these are oyster eater bird eggs. I was quite surprised to find them unattended on a rock.
This was outside the other MH so we knocked on the door to see if they were fellow Australians. But no, they are Germans and this was the only thing he fished out of the ocean! Lol who would have thought!?

Today was a very exciting day for us as we saw our first moose/elk along the road and I even had time to take a quick photo before it disappeared into the forest. Also we finally hit 10°c ! Yoo hoo!
