Gijon

Travelled: 0km
Visited/Stayed: Gijon, Spain
We decided to have a 'stay put day' today. Before breakfast we had a nice walk along the cliffs where there were lots of picnic areas and views of the city. It is the largest city in the Asturias region, producing metal and chemicals. You can also catch a ferry to France.
We then rode the bikes around to the parkland on the other side of the bay which has the remains of a military fortifications.
We bumped our way along some cobblestone roads of the old quarter to the port and then through some streets back to the bay. There are few museums to visit in town or like us you can spend the day relaxing on the beach with all the locals.
Later we did a bit of research on what direction we will take next as well as another stroll along the promenade.
Mark was very excited to discover that he could use a leaf (rather than a credit card) to open the automatic public toilet!
