Hola España

Travelled:53km
Visited: Hendaye (Fr), Hondarribia (Es)
Stay: Hondarribia- camperstop, free parking and services (no one at booth atm), on west side of bay near fishing port. GPS N43°23.0490' W1°47.7378'
We drove along the clicf top road into Hendaye. There were some campingcars stopped in some parking bays along the way. We also had a look at the aire in Hendaye and found that after it has been done up you now have to pay to stay. We followed the foreshore road to the marina and managed to find a spot eveb though there are a lot of campingcar restriction signs about. We had a walk to the wide golden sand beach and back through a small local market. The buildings seem grander here and has quite a different feel to St.Jean. with lots of big yatchs and mountains surrounding the bay.
We then back tracked to McD to watch the Bombers beat the Tigers. Feeling contented we drove 23km into Spain and to a camperstop in Hondaribbia offering a great view of the bay..back to where we had been earlier.
We walked over to the fishing port and admired the big fishing boats. Then after dinner we road our bikes into town. What a lively picturesque town it is. Families were out having tapas enjoying the evening and the buildings are so colourfully designed.
A great way to start our Spainish adventure.

  1. Up the Bombers! I went to the game last night. It is always great to be there but I usually only go when my friend Sue has a spare ticket because her friend that she goes with has another function or on holidays so can't use her members ticket. This has happened four times this year!! I remember Vera and Warren's Mum Lorraine were friends due to their love of the Bombers.
