Cantabria Country Spain

Travelled: 115km
Visited:Laredo, Cabarceno
Stay:Cabarceno- free parking and services near a Wildlife Park GPS N43°21.486' W3°49.186'

This morning we went in search of the UNESCO Vizcaya Bridge. It is the only transporter bridge in the world that still serves the same purpose as it did when it was first built in 1893. It is at the mouth of the Nervion River between Portugalete and Getxo. Photos had to be taken from Bluey as unfortunately it was impossible to find a parking spot to have a closer look.

We took the motorway towards Santander and hopped off at Laredo to have a look at the aire (no longer). It is Cantabria's biggest beach resort.

We then headed off to the aire in Cabarceno.  It is located in a small village with numerous restaurants, adjacent to a large wildlife park and a lake with views of the mountains. Very pretty and you can watch the elephants for free in their enclosure.
We relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful weather, spending some time chatting to a couple from Wales.
