Rain cleared and we walked up through into the walled town. We looked into the military museum and then a couple of the many churches. After a coffee and a bite to eat we bought a ticket and audio guide for the ramparts. It was very informative and offered great views of the town and surrounding district. Its all about the wall here. The facts are: constructed in 1107, 2.5km long, 2500 crenellations, 9 gateways.
We then had an easy drive on a national road to Segovia. We drove around the town and stopped at the aqueduct tourist info office who told us we could park at the Bull Ring carpark, less than 2km away. A very quiet spot. We did go and enquire at the camp ground another 2km away but an unpowered site was €20! Needless to say we came back to the parking area which up to now we are on our own. Tomorrow we are looking forward to visiting Segovia.
That wall looks like it was built yesterday!! Obviously wel cared for.The only time that I have seen a wall anywhere near as good as that one is Rhodes (Greek Island)
