Cremieu France

It was time to say our goodbyes and get bluey back on the road. We managed to find a direction we haven’t taken before. We set the gps for the medieval village of Cremieu. We parked bluey under some trees just on the edge of the historic centre and wondered in. It’s had a varied past including military and religious influences.

Above on top of the promontory was the 12C Dauphin Castle.

We strolled through some imposing fortified gates that were once part of the ramparts surrounding the village.

We have a look at the pretty Cloister of Augustins and the Marie next to the lovely Place de la Nation.

The 18C covered market hall was quite impressive.

We enjoyed our first (this year) kebab for lunch. Then we followed the walking map to various buildings learning about the historic significance and architecture of them.

After trying a few places with no luck to get one of Bluey’s tyres fixed we did manage to get someone to put a plug in it for €24 in Morestel.

The day was getting on so we picked a shady spot next to the Isère River and amazing views just out from Les Échelles. It was popular during the afternoon but by 7:30pm we were the only ones here. The river was very refreshing too.

Views at sunset…
95km today.
