Stein am Rhein Switzerland

Travelled:73km
Visited/Stay:Stein am Rhein Switzerland- paid parking 1 chf/hr on the river close to town. 47.662498,8.854530

We drove through some pretty countryside this morning on our way to today’s destination.

Stein am Rhein is a charming town found at the point where Lake Constance again becomes the Rhine River. Luckily we arrived mid morning and managed to get a parking spot quite easily. We strolled along the river into the old centre and admired the beautiful painted facades and half timbered houses especially in the Town Hall Square.

A huge wine press at the old monastery.

We returned to the river for a swim before returning for another stroll in town. We finished the day sitting in the shade watching people blow up their rubber boats to go downstream to another town. Others enjoyed floating down the river to the beach area and walking back up to town to float back again. It was a relaxing day.
