Maribor Slovenia

Travelled:228km
Stay:Maribor Slovenia- free parking behind restaurant in Drava River. N46.5656 E15.6197

This morning we travelled on the toll road out of Hungary into Slovenia. We purchased a €15/7 day vignette at a petrol station and continued on the toll road to Maribor. We found a designated parking spot next to the train station and then went to explore the town.

Being a weekend the shops were closed and so there were not many people around. The town has a strategic location on the Drava River and has chequered past. We followed a map from the tourist office and got to see the major sights.
The Franciscan Church.

The Maribor Castle built in 1478.
The St.John the Baptist Cathedral.

The town hall in the Main Square.
The famous 400 year old vine (the oldest in the world).
The Judgement Tower.
 The Water Tower.

From the river we returned back to Bluey and drove to a prettier spot along the river. We decided to eat a meal at the restaurant which was very good.
