Soča Valley Slovenia

Travelled:108km
Stay:Soča Campground €26 N46.3333 E13.6423
Visited:Kobarid

Today we made our way to the Soca Valley which is famous for its turquoise waters.
It was a pretty drive with lots of beautiful scenery.

We stopped in Kobarid to have a look around. In 1917 it was the site of the Battle of Caporetto which saw the Austro-Hungarian and German units rout their way through Italian lines.
We walked up to the Church of St.Anthony which is set on three tiers of arcaded octagonal platforms, dominating the landscape of the Soca Valley.

We then strolled down to have a look at Napoleon Bridge over the Soca River.

We then continued on to a campsite further into the valley.

It was very busy but we managed to find a good spot for 2 motorhomes and settled in.

Later some of us took a dip in the very refreshing waters of the Soca River. Needless to say it was very invigorating!
