Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Travelled:147km
Visited/Stay:Czech Republic- Cesky Krumlov - €9 paid overnight parking. No services. N48.816002 E14.3092

We enjoyed a morning walk through the village of Niederalteich before heading off to do some last bit of shopping in Germany (especially at the Getranke for some beer!).

We then continued on the 533 stopping off in Grafenau to do the services. Then after having some GPS issues we were on the road again following the 533 and then the B12 into Czech Republic.

There was no real border and so we continued our drive along the scenic route 39 to Cesky Krumlov, arriving just before 3pm.
We headed into the old medieval town centre that is situated on the rocky banks of the Vltava river.
It is a very touristy town with plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants.
Another popular pursuit was rafting along the river.
We walked along the bumpy cobbled streets passing the multi coloured buildings in all differing architecture.
It had a nice atmosphere and plenty of viewing points, especially of the colourful castle tower.

We entered through the gates of the castle and had a look around the grounds and enjoyed the views of the town.

There were a couple of bears in the moat.

Tonight we enjoyed our first ‘home cooked’ meal together.
