Vizille

Travelled:110km
Visited: Vizille Chateau
Stay: Sassenage-Aire, free parking and services GPS N45.21346 E5.66858
After having a search for Mark's lost glasses with no success, we drove down and out of the valley towards Grenoble.

Our destination was the Chateau of Vizille which, in its day, was one of the most important  castles in the Dauphine Region. It now houses the Museum of the French Revolution. We had a very informative free visit with audio guides and all came out with a bit more knowledge. We were also very impressed with the paintings on display.

We then had a pleasant walk in the park along the stream upto the deer enclosure and back again.

After a bite to eat we were on the road again driving along the Route Napoleon and we stopped at a meadow on the edge of the lake near Laffrey to see his statue.

We then continued South driving through la Mure before heading North again stopping to find an aire in Vif.

As it was not to our liking we did a bit of research and ended up in Sassenage next to parkland and a little lake. Mark did some repairs to the roof vents/skylights as the rubber seal was sticking to them. After dinner we managed a couple of rounds of boules before darkness fell. Scores were are draw!
