Over the Col to Die and beyond

Travelled:77km
Visited: Col de Rousset, Die, Chatillon en Dios, Chichilianne
Stay:Chichilianne-aire, free parking, paid services GPS N44°48.741' E5°34.534'
We set off to Die via the picturesque drive over the Col de Rousset.
The town owes its name to the goddess Andarta (in latin Dea which later became Die). There is evidence of the town existing in the Roman era especially seen here in the rampart wall. We spent some time walking around the town and enjoyed lunch in one of the cafes'.
From here we made our way to another medieval village, Chatillon en Dios. It was a much prettier village with lots of flowers creating a lovely atmosphere. There were lots of great photo opportunities. We ended our visit with a local beer in the bar.

After a bit of research, we decided to drive over the Col de Menee to the aire in Chichilianne. Predominately a village of holiday homes and Gites with a great view of Mont Aiguille dominating the sky line. There is of course a Boulangerie, a bar/restaurant, a hotel and a church. A peaceful little spot to stop.
