4 Italian Villages

Travelled:104km
Visited:Demonte, Cuneo, Dronero, Busca
Stay: Saluzzo-free parking and water GPS N44°38'14" E7°29'49"

We had a lovely day visiting 4 towns in the Cuneo Piemonte region.
Wouldn't want to buy this hugh slab of cheese!

Our first stop was Demonte which is considered to be the most important town in the Stura Valley and is famous for its charming arcades. We popped into a couple of churches and a small museum showing the way of life in the 1800's.

Wine pressing and bottling.

From here we descended down to Cuneo and the haze from the pollution. We strolled up and down the arcades of the main road through the old quarter and also had a look in some more churches which have impressive paintings.
Hugh slabs to redo the main road in Cuneo.

The next village was Dronero which is home to the crenellated Ponte di Diavolo (Devil's Bridge). It was built in 1492 across the Maira river.

On our way to Saluzzo we stopped again and ventured a look at Busco. As we walked around the old quarter and we again admired several churches.

The road into Saluzzo was lined with many varieties of fruit orchards. A very a fertile valley. Later as we sat in Bluey we watched young children coming to see the deer.
