The cloud was so low this morning, we could not even see the lake. We sat out the rain, then decided to head up to a Spain via the Col du Pourtalet. We came out just above the cloud line and had a lovely view of the plateau.
We stopped in the Spanish village and bought a few things from the 'border' shops, then drove down to the ski resort of el Fromigal. The village is quite big as there is a large skiing area.
We then double backed into France and stopped for a pretty walk through the Bitet Forest along the gorge to a cascade.
We then continued down the d'Ossau Valley and parked in the aire in Laruns. We strolled around the pretty town after the rain and before dinner.
