Travelled: 461km
Visited:Sisteron
Stay:Sisteron- aire, free parking, paid services at parking at the Gare, GPS N44.20028 E5.94389

After a short walk through the wheat fields to the Oblisque erected in recognition of Mr Riquet, the designer of the Canal du Midi, we were off!

Taking the autoroutes across to the East. Had a stop for breakfast over looking at Carcassonne.
Our next stop was at the shopping centre in Arles. After filling up Bluey with supplies and petrol, and us with lunch, we were on the road again.
Half an hour later, after a coffee perk up, we got off the autoroute at Sisteron and managed to find a spot at the foot of the citadel. We promptly went for a walk up the hill for a visit. Firstly built in 1209, it has remained an important feature of the town. It sits perched on the rocks overlooking the valley and distant mountains.

On the way back we hurried through the old quarter as the storm brewed. We sat out the storm and then after dinner we walked back into town and enjoyed the free entertainment and atmosphere of the festival.
