Had a relaxing day. After a bit of a clean up, some directions from fellow campers, a map on walks in the area from the tourist office and the purchase of the daily baguette, we set off on a lovely walk along the feeder river to the lake. It was very picturesque and we stopped for a chat with a local farmer. He was just cleaning up after his morning milking of 300 sheep! He brings the sheep from his farm near Pau for the summer and sells his cheese here too. He is 72 and still going strong.
On the way back we got caught in the thunder storm but managed to find shelter in a little chalet restaurant. After our beer, the rain had turned to drizzle so we headed back to Bluey. Whilst doing the bookwork I found a discrepency with our credit card balance . So I made a phone call to check it out and was told there was a $3000 purchase made from a jewelery shop in South Africa. After confirming with Mark that he hadn't bought me a surprise gift, it was classisfied as fraud. So now we go through card cancellations and paperwork and hopefully an eventual credit on our account! So then I did a check on our other accounts and luckily all is as it should be...phew.
After that bit of excitement it was dinner time. Duck fillet and tender loins pan fried with my potato special. Then a short walk along the lake before the rain.
Even though we are far from home our thoughts are always with our family and also our wonderful neighbours in Burwood. A special hello to Bill, who we know follows our journey and will be 99 this year.
