To Eguisheim France

Travelled : 75km
Stay: Eguisheim- Aire free   48.04311, 7.31153

We drove along the Route des Crêtes and the Col de la Schlucht down to Le Linge, where we stopped to visit a memorial and trenches from the First World War. These are one of the best preserved WW1 trenches and is still surrounded by rusty original barbed wire, uncleared live munitions and never-exhumed soldiers. Some 10,000 French troops and 7000 Germans lost their lives here.

After visiting the German war cemetery, we continued down to Munster. We stopped to have lunch next to the new Aire ( 54 places, 6eu/24hrs). We then went to have a quick look at he town and we're lucky to spot a couple of Storks in their nest on top of the Church steeple.

We continued to Eguisheim, our final destination. We managed to find a spot in the Aire and rode our bikes into town, which was delightful with its cobbled streets and coloured colombage houses adorned with flowers.
