Killarney and Warwick QLD

We set off early along the backroads for an hour to Killarney. A town surrounded by waterfalls and near the source of the Condamine River, a part of the longest river system in Australia flowing into the Darling River. We stopped briefly and took some photos of the wooden carvings depicting the wood carters and bullocks drivers of yesteryear.
We could hear the call over a load speaker and at first we thought it could be the sale yards but as we left town we realised it was the huge polocrosse championship games .
We continued up into the Main Range National Park.
Our first stop was at Daggs Falls lookout.
Further on was the major attraction of the Queen Mary Falls. We did the 40 mins circuit to the base of the 40m falls.

View from the top lookout.
We ended our journey along here at Carrs Lookout before going back as there was road restrictions for trucks and heavy vehicles.
Doubling back to Killarney we drove along the Settlers Route #1 to Warwick. We stopped in Tannymorel to have a look at the impressive mural on a big shed on private property.
In Yangan we admired the various restored buildings.
Arriving in Warwick we had a look at the 15m Horsepower Memorial sculpture depicting the many ways horses have aided man throughout Australian history.
A walk through the main part of town highlighted some prominent buildings many built using the local sandstone in Yangan.
We were especially wowed by St.Mary’s Catholic Church.
So now we pointed Buster to travel west. We looked at Leslie Dam and we were mesmerised by the water outlet. There were also a couple of sculptures of Mr Leslie and his wife who first settled in the area.

Continuing on the Cunningham Hwy we eventually reached Inglewood where we settled in at the free rest area with numerous others ready for the Bombers game tonight!
