Dangars Gorge to Wollomombi Gorge NSW

We set off early to do a 7km/2 hours return walk to McDirtys Lookout.

We spotted Buster on the otherside of the gorge..

We then had to drive back to Armidale and followed the Waterfall Way out of town. Our first stop Baker’s Creek Falls.. 

Nearby was Hillgrove, once a thriving gold mining town. We stopped at the museum but the door was closed so we had a quick look at the old machinery on the grounds. 

Next was Wollomombi Gorge. We dove into the campground and decided to stay. We called up NSW NP office and booked our site #10 /$12.30. 

After lunch we wondered over to Edgar’s Lookout 

and then walked to the day picnic area where the walks start from. We admired the Wollomombi and Chandler Falls set in a large gorge from the Main Lookout and Checks Viewpoint. Tomorrow we will explore further.

The rest of the afternoon was in front of the fire waiting for the lamb roast to cook.
