Today it rained but that’s okay as it was a travel day to Yamba to see our friends John and Sue.
The road from Dalmorton towards Grafton was pretty slow going with lots of pot holes and had to stop once to clear a branch over the road.
In Grafton we filled up with fuel ($1.82 with Coles fuel voucher), popped into the Tourist Office, did our washing and found a dump point. Unfortunately it was too wet to walk around town and besides that we were keen to get to see John and Sue in Yamba. It was a perfect day to sit around and chat the rest of the day away.
We woke up to beautiful sunshine and we’re shown around this quaint town. This is where the Clarence River meets the sea. After strolling through the weekly farmers market (the boys had a German sausage for breakfast), we walked out onto the Breakwater, offering some great views.
The area beneath the lighthouse was once quarried and is now a carpark and picnic area.
On the otherside of Clarence Head was Main Beach with a beach swimming pool. We finished our walk at Pippi Beach which stretched out to Angourie point. We drove to the point and had a look at the swimming holes created in the disused quarries.
The next day while John and Sue were busyness the morning so we had a walk along the marina and wharf areas into town.
Then had fish and chips for lunch. The rest of the afternoon we enjoyed chatting with John and Sue and once again we were spoilt with a delicious dinner.
