The wind wasn’t too bad overnight. We packed up and made our way to Smoky Bay and drove past an oyster farmer sell on a early Sunday morning…winner for us. Again $10/doz although we must eat them before we get to the WA border. Shouldn’t be too hard…
We made it back to Traky and took of for Ceduna. Our main aim this morning was to fill up on fuel, food and water for the crossing of the Nullarbor into Western Australia. Unfortunately the well know Oyster Barn was closed today but we were happy to buy some very good fish n chips from the friendly people opposite Foodland.
Now we ready for the Nullarbor although we only got to Penong, a small township that has been welcoming travellers since 1890. It is also known as the Town of Windmills and is proudly home of Australia’s biggest windmill - the Comet at 35’ feet wide. We took the obligatory photos and videos.
Mark got out the golf sticks and we partook in one of the holes in the Nullarbor links. It was a poor effort for a Par 4 - Mark 7, Mireille 9, but we had fun ..
Then we settled next to the day area and watched Bombers win as the internet coverage is very patchy along the way.
