Vall de Boi

Travelled : 78km
Visited: Vall de Boi
Stay: Barruera- picnic area, free parking and services. N42.5014 E0.79572

We had a wonderful day. We drove along the N260, over the Coll de la Crue de Perves 1350m, into the next valley.

We stopped to visit Pont de Suert with its very unique church.

We then veered right into the Vall de Boi and drove to Caldes de Boi but could go no further due to the 2m width road restriction. We doubled back and parked near La Farga at the start of the St.Nicolau River walk to Liebreta Estuary and further still to the refuge hut of Aigiestortes plateau of which the National Park got its name. The walk does continue on further again to another lake Liong. As our hiking fitness is not at our peak we just did the 8km return trip to the lake.

3 hours later we took Bluey through Boi and Taull to suss out the overnight parking spots there but we prefered the one next to the river near Barruera.

We parked in the shade and 'recovered' from our exertion with a couple of cold beverages enjoying the view and the sun.
