Our first stop this morning was at Cabo de Trafalgar where Lord Nelson fought the Spanish and French navy in 1805. Although he won the battle it was here that he lost his life.

The small villages along the way where mainly geared up for the holidays and things were looking a bit tired.

We then continued on to Tarifa. On the way we stopped in Punta Paloma and watched the multitude of wind surfers. This  area is the world's most popular destinations for wind sports.

Another hint that the wind blows most of the time here is the amount of wind generators scattered in the valley and hillsides.

Lots of these Bulls  on the hill tops through Spain.
The main reason we went to Tarifa was because it us the southernmost point of Continental Europe.
We managed to find a park easily enough in the street leading out to this point.  We paid €2/2hrs and set off to the end of the cause way.

Here the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean Ocean.

No go zone.

Unfortunately due to the overcast weather we could not see Africa.

There is a ferry to Tangier from here. Day trips are also on offer.

We then wondered through the streets of the old town but as it was lunchtime only the restaurants were open.

From here we drove to La Linea, the Gibraltar border and as it was late afternoon we just took it easy.
