To Fort de la Latte France

Travelled: 98km (13751 km in total)
Stay: Fort de la Latte - free parking area, no services N48°39.8682' W2°17.5422' / 48.6644, -2.29327

Following our 'Eyewitness Travel' book 'Backroads France', our first stop for the day was in Jugon les Lacs. A pretty town on the shores of a lake.

After a stroll around and the purchase of our daily baguette, we headed back to the coast to St.Cast le Guildo. On the way we stopped in Plancoët to do some shopping and our laundry which was conveniently placed in the supermarket carpark.
As the weather wasn't to inviting for a stroll along the 'Grande Plage', we drove around to the port and to the lookout on the headland.

There were a few sandy coves among the rocky coastline to explore, but we decided to keep going to Fort de la Latte. We went to visit the 14th century castle built on a rocky outcrop 60m above the ocean. It has been very nicely restored and we loved the 360 views  from the top of the circular keep. The lady in the ticket office said we could stay the night. It is a good spot as it is protected from the wind, which hopefully isn't blowing a gale tomorrow as we want to go to visit Cap Fréhal.
