Honfleur and Deauville France

Travelled:45km
Stay: Deauville-parking near port  49.36412, 0.07662

Today we entered the Calvados region of Normandy. We went over the well known Normandy Bridge which goes over the Seine River before it reaches the sea, into Honfleur.

We had a look at the very big (100 spots) and busy Aire, but decided we would try and find a parking spot closer to town. Honfleur has always been  a very popular tourist destination and has a very attractive harbour and cobbled streets with charming buildings and a wooden church.

We then made our way to Tourville and Deauville, well known beach resorts, especially for the Parisians. We had a walk along the beach on the boardwalk flanked by multi-coloured parasols and the Art Deco style "Pompean Baths" built in 1923. We loved the decorative villas and enjoyed watching the fishing boats come into port with the seagulls circling around them. An enjoyable day.
