Col de Pailheres to Les Angles France

Travelled : 77km
Stay : Les Angles - free Aire    42.5777, 2.0533

Woke up to heavy fog, but decided that we will still drive up to the Col de Pailheres at 2001m in altitude and the highest part of the Tour de France. As we approached the Col we were met with blue skies and sunshine, finding ourselves above the clouds. Beautiful and breath taking scenery. All that we had hoped for. We did a couple of walks and enjoyed our surroundings until mid afternoon when most of the clouds had dissipated.

We then took the narrow and windy road down the otherside, which offered more beautiful vistas.

We drove along the valley to Les Angles, a large ski resort village at about 1500m alt. Had a walk around and enjoyed the sunshine.
