To Albi France

Travelled: 121km
Stay:Albi free aire near Cathedral   N43.92750 E2.14111
Visited: Caylus, St-Antonin-Nobleval and Cordes-Sur-Ciel

We travelled through beautiful and varied country side today and visited some lovely villages. We did the walking tour of the medieval village of Caylus. Not the most well kept town, but it did have some interesting buildings, in particular, one called the House of Wolves (14th century) which got its name due to the four animal sculptures on its facade.

We then stopped in St.Antonin Noble Val, on the Aveyron River. It boasts the oldest civil building in France, built in the 12th century, but also building called the 'house of love' due to its carving on the wall!

Next was the 13th century hilltop town of Cordes-sur-Ciel with great views. Quite touristy but has a nice atmosphere with some great carved stone buildings.

There is certainly no shortage of ancient, medieval villages in France, either on hilltops or fortified. Every day we get hill and stair training!
