Cabrerets and St.Cirq Lapopie

Travelled: 76km
Stay: St.Cirq Lapopie 7eu Aire   44.47081, 1.67994

Travelled through the Célé Valley along the river and passing lovely villages. We stopped for lunch in Cabrerets which also boasts a Grotte (cave)  with prehistoric paintings. We then continued to St.Cirq Lapopie and found a lovely spot under the trees next to the river. In 2012 it was the winner of the most beautiful village of France. It look spectacular set on top of the cliff above the Lot River, which of course after walking to the top offered beautiful views of the valley and town. Due to the tourist trade the buildings are in good condition and the many restaurants offer a lovely atmosphere. The canal boats can also moor for the night.
