On the Loire River, Orleans

Travelled: 217km from Beauvais to a parking area on Loire River near Orleans N47•53.0160' E1•50.1282'

After a surprising quiet night outside Ford in Beauvais, we woke to a very fresh morning. We were happy to see the mechanics arrive at 8am and they assured us that they would see to our oil leak straight away. We decided to sit and wait and by 9:30am Bluey had the faulty oil filter fixed and was ready to go. As compensation we negotiated to get 12 months roadside assist. Hopefully we will never have to use it.

Overnight oil leak.

So now we had to get into travel mode. Our destination was Orleans. We decided on the motorway which took us around Paris.
Very interesting building.

The traffic wasn't too bad considering this is a capital city.

Once we made it to the southern side we took the National Road and enjoyed travelling through the French country side.

Tortured trees!

As we approached Orleans we felt a little weary and decided to just drive to the Aire and visit the city tomorrow. Unfortunately the Aire was having a face lift and was currently closed.
We continued down the 'no through' road a little further to find a large parking area. We decided to stay and went for a stroll along the banks of the Loire River.

We are still feeling a bit jet lagged so we were happy to spend the afternoon sorting out a few things including connecting the dashcam and a trip meter on the bike. Even though the sun is out it is still quite cold and we will not linger too long before heading south into Spain.
