Bluey in Beauvais

Travelled: to Beauvais 61km
Stay: outside Ford in Beauvais N49•27.3468' E2•5.8926'

Considering we went to sleep so early last night, we woke up at 5:30am. After a coffee we were off to Ford in Beauvais. We left Bluey to get his annual service and a couple of new tyres, along with  a oil pump recall. Later, as we were walking to the city centre we got a call saying that we also needed all 4 brakes replaced.
Beautiful daffodils are everywhere even in the middle of the roundabouts.

So after we went to Decathalon and bought a strong bike chain, we did the only thing we could do in France at 12 o'clock, and that is to 'have the lunch'. We went all out and had a menu with a carafe of wine.

Feeling very full we sat in the square enjoying the warmth of the sun before walking 4km back towards Bluey.

We had a couple more hours to wait and finally drove out to go and do some shopping at 5:30pm. It was on our return with our groceries that Mark noticed a considerable pool of oil under Bluey and a consistent drip. We quickly called Ford but of course all the mechanics has left for the day. We did drive to the Aire to stay the night but after pouring 2 litres of oil into Bluey, Mark was concerned that by morning there would be none left. So we returned to Ford. On the way we stopped to buy another bottle of oil and then parked up right outside so they can see it for themselves tomorrow morning at 9:00am. Not a great end to the day but we are thankful that we hadn't driven further out of town. Goodness knows what might have happened to the motor. By the way, the fit bit step count for today was 21000! Hopefully we worked off some of the lunch!

Here are a couple of things you will find in a supermarket carpark in France.

Thumbs down for Ford! Hopefully they will redeem themselves tomorrow.
