Florence Day 2 Italy

Travelled:0km
Visited:Florence
Stay:Florence as per yesterday

We took the bus into Florence again and then followed a self guided walking tour Mark found on the web florenceforfree.wordpress.com We had a look at the Holy Trinity church before crossing over of the Arno river.

Another church on the way!

We then went in the St Spirito Basilica

before walking to the very impressive Pitti Palace. The stone blocks are hugh.

Then it was up the hill to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy the wonderful view of Florence. There is even another statue of David up there!

Then it was down the hill through a lovely rose garden and after lunch

we went back over the Arno River to the Basilica of Santa Croce. Here lie the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo.

From here we walked past more leather factories and shops. The rest of the afternoon we retraced our steps from yesterday, going to the Duomo and resting our feet in the Piazza Signoria whilst doing some people watching. There are lots of tourists here in Florence. Once we get back to Bluey we take our washing to a Laundromat around the corner which also has free wifi! Then its planning for our next destination over a drink or two. Cheers....

A couplr of interesting street signs.

A different way to visit Florence.

A couple a pretty scary knockers
