Munich Museum and Oktoberfest Germany

Travelled:0km
Visited: Munich Deutsches Museum, Oktoberfest
Stay: Munich Allianz Stadium parking as per last night

We bought an all day transport ticket that up to 5 adults can travel together for €11.20 and we headed to the Deutsches Museum. It is amazing and in 4 hours we could still not see everything. We spent nearly the first hour walking through a man made mine, showing us how mining practices have changed through history. Then how the mined products were used. There were exhibits on machinery, planes to rockets, shipping, water and electric power and that was just some of the first floor. There were exhibits on science and technology, music instruments, printing, glass blowing...any way you get the idea!

When our brains could not take in any more, we took the train to Oktoberfest. It is so nice to see most people wear the traditional costume and enjoying themselves. Along with the 12 huge beer tents, that can hold a staggering 8,000 people (that's just one tent), there were lots of food and souvenir stalls and show rides for those who dare. There were alot of people around but apparently not as many as on the weekends where it is near impossible to get a seat in the tents. We made a bee line for the Hofbrau tent as Mark had a few fond memories of his 2 weeks spent here in 1976. It had alot of atmosphere! We had a look in a couple of others and managed to sit on a table and drink a stein of Spaten beer. We then ventured back to the HB tent and we were served a stein (we shared this one) whilst we were standing close to a table.  After a bit more of a walk around the crowd was getting heavier so we decided to head back to Bluey and call it a day.
