Saluzzo, ITALY

Travelled: 25km
Stay: Saluzzo Aire free  N44°38'14" E7°29'49" /44.63726, 7.49694

We travelled through fields of fruit trees on our way to Saluzzo. We spent a lovely day wondering around the cobbled streets. Firstly we walked through the huge weekly market in the main street. We had the best croissant and coffee so far and so cheap at 5.40eu (2 coffees and 3 croissant)!. Who said Europe was expensive? We are getting ripped off in Australia. The price difference is possibly due to the wages.  We then had a look  in the  Gothic Cathedral of Saint Mary. The interior is beautifully painted.

We then climbed 130 steps to the top of a watch tower and had a great view of the town but the surrounding area was very smoggy.

After our regular stair training we visited the museum in a Renaissance building of Casa Cavassa. The rooms had some interesting antique furniture and fine frescoes, friezes and coffered ceilings.

After a pizza for lunch we walked some more around town and were impressed with how clean it was and how well dressed the people where. We enjoyed watching people while sitting on a bench in the main square.

After a coffee we headed to the aire and met an older Italian couple that are here in the aire with us.
