Grimselpass, Switzerland

Travelled : 144km
Stay: Grimselpass free carpark, no services  N46.56115 E8.33673

Woke up to rain and heavy cloud cover. Made our way back down the valley to Sion and then headed up the Rhone Valley. As the rain and cloud was heavy with the likely hood of tomorrow being the same, we decided that it wasn't worth while to go to Zermatt to gaze upon the Matterhorn. It will have to wait until another time. So on we trudged through the rain up the valley and managed to stop at a lovely village of Munster. We admired the quaint timber chalets and the pretty valley.

With the weather becoming worse we continued on to Gletsch, where the Rhone River starts from the waters of the Rhone Glacier. Unfortunately due to the bad weather the road to the Glacier lookout was closed.

With the rain pelting down on Bluey we zigzagged our way up to Grimselpass and though we can't see a thing and the rain and wind is constant we are tempted to sit it out up here in the hope that tomorrow may bring some relief and we get a chance to gaze out on some beautiful vistas...only time will tell. Auf Wiedersehen (as we are now in the German speaking part of Switzerland)
