Stay: Free Aire La Chapelle de Guinchay 46.21409, 4.75761
I will never remember these long names for these small french villages! We drove into Macon and had a walk through the old quarter and the market where we bought some paella for dinner. Spent the next few hours in the warmth of McD as Mark watched the Bombers win whilst I did some blogging, facebooking and research for parking Bluey in Barcelona. We then headed down the road a bit to Romaneche to a museum about compagnonnage, which is a special guild for the building and construction trades. Apprentices of the guild have to do a Tour de France and learn their trade from other members of the guild. The wood work that was in exhibit was extraordinary. We then doubled back to the Aire in La Chapelle where we bought some of the local wine as we are in the Beaujolais!
