Entrevaux France

Traveled: 140km
Stay: 1 night 2 May at Entrevaux train station parking ( free with toilet) 43.94893, 6.81211

Got up early and took off to Monaco. Camy did us proud as we couldn't of found the only Motorhome parking without her (which by the way was full!) From the Motorhome, Monaco was not what we expected. It is very compact and built up and some roads have had to be built underground, which effects your perception of where you are. As the parking was full we drove through the streets and ended up driving along the Grand Prix circuit. Bluey handled it easy "smoking the bags"! As we tried to go back to see if some parking became available, we where stopped by a Policeman. Oh no what have we done now? Apparently we were trying to drive along a road dedicated only to Monaco cars. Oops, it's very tricky to notice every sign as we try to negotiate the roundabouts and tunnels. Decided we will head towards the Verdon Gorges. We took the road towards Grenoble and we were rewarded by a beautiful drive along the Var River.

We stopped at a lovely village, Touet-sur-Var. Yes, another medieval town. This one had built its Church over the river and even had a trap door in the floor you could lift up and watch the river water 30 feet below!

After lunch we continued on and came onto Entrevaux. What a delight. A medieval town with its citadel built in 1536, perched on top of the hill, which we had to stop to visit. Found a great stop to park at the train station. We will stay here tonight. There was thunder rumbling but we were lucky that it blew over, so we walked 20 minutes UP to the Citadel, but the effort was rewarded with great views and it was interesting to visit.
