Huon Valley Tasmania

This morning we stopped in Huonville, the commercial centre of the Huon Valley. It’s a busy place and has all the amenities you would expect. Whilst we were here we admired the wooden sculptures along the river telling us a bit about the history of the area.

We then drove to Taroona. We spotted the historic shot tower built in 1870.

We meet up with David deLittle, a relative on Mark’s mother’s side, who has shared a lot of the deLittle family history with us. We are very appreciative of his knowledge.

On our way to our spot tonight we took the roads less travelled and stopped at the Fort Pierson Reserve.

We then set up for the night at the Longley Pub.
