We then descended into the valley below and stopped at O’Neills Creek Reserve to have breakfast. Further on was Sheffield, a rural town that remade itself into mural mecca.
We rested the afternoon away in Railton which was known as the Town of Topiary. Unfortunately many of these bushy sculptures needed a bit of a prune and some had completely vanished. It appears someone is trying to get new plants to grow to keep the attraction alive.
The local industry is the cement plant that has been going since 1923. They export its product to the mainland. We did see it coming into town but here is a mural on the side of the cafe.
Great blog, will keep following your travels. Loved meeting you both at Railton.
