To Lyndhurst SA

This morning we headed out of Arkaroola and up a track to Bararranna Gorge.

There were a couple of steep sections along the way but otherwise the track was pretty good.

From the car park it was only a short walk along the dry Arkaroola Creek bed. It was another lovely walk with the red cliffs.

We thought this rock formation looked like a lion.

We then turned off to scramble a short way along the rocky creek bed of Bararranna Gorge before turning back.

On our drive back out we stopped to have a look at Lively’s mine ruins that didn’t last long back in the late 1800’s.
Although there are plenty more walks and tracks to discover in the region we decide to continue our journey. On the way to Copley stop at Italowie where near here RM Williams learnt his trade at making leather boots.
We thought the drive to Copley was very picturesque with hills and numerous dry creek crossings.

We fuelled up and pumped up the tyres before getting some milk in Leigh Creek. Then 38km up the road at Lyndhurst we go 4km up the Stzelecki Track to Clarries Waterhole(also dry) for hopefully a quiet night under the amazing starry sky.
