The Darling River Pooncarie NSW

Having enjoyed our stay on the Murray River it was now time to move on. We returned to Red Cliffs and walked down to a viewing platform to see its name sake.

The reason we cam back here was to go and buy some more parts, primarily an extension cable with connector for the Starlink from Spacetek. Then it was to Mildura for shopping and fuel. We crossed the Murray into NSW and went to have a look at some spots to stay in the area called the sandbar but the weather was unwelcoming so we decided to drive on instead.

The river camp sites in Wentworth were still very much under water so we continued 20km towards Pooncarie, stopping at one of the small areas along the road next to the Darling River.

We spent a quiet night here and then drove 100km to Pooncarie where we managed to get a lovely spot again on the banks of the Darling River. We spent a couple of days watching the birdlife and the fish (mostly carp) jump and flap out of the water. We also walked into town and chatted to our neighbours around the campfire.
