Margaret River WA

Travelled: 122km via Margaret River, mouth of the Margaret River, Vasse Felix winery, Canal Rocks Western Australia
Stay: Busselton bush stay $25

After a peaceful night we were greeted with blue sunny skies. We stopped in Margaret River getting breakfast from the the bakery and a map from the information centre. The region is well known for its craft breweries and wineries. We then drove out to the mouth of Margaret River at Prevelly near Surfers Point.

We spent some time here watching the surfers and reading all about surfing…

Next we headed up Cave Road to Vasse Felix winery (we had to pick one from over 80). It was the first winery in the region established in 1967.

We tasted 12 wines and bought a few bottles…

Further north we went have a look at Canal Rocks which is a series of granite rocks that have formed a narrow channel.

From here we turned eastward towards Busselton to our bush camp on someone’s property and called it a day.
