Busselton Jetty WA

Travelled: 89 km to Busselton Jetty, Cape Naturaliste, Eagle Bay
Stay: Camp Grace near Busselton $28pn power

Our aim this morning was to walk along the longest timber pier in the Southern Hemisphere in Busselton. We arrived at 8:30am an hour before the the jetty gets barricaded and it is then payable to enter.

The sun was shining and there was no wind so it was a pleasant 1.8 km stroll to the end where on the last 150m an aquarium/underwater observatory has been built but is closed atm.

We returned to shore and made our way to the northern point of what is known in the area as The Cape to Cape - from Leeuwin Lighthouse in the south to the Naturaliste Lighthouse on the southern tip.

There are a few walks that can be done and we went to the Whale lookout…none to be seen here as the season for this part of the coast is September to December. But the views were lovely and we had worked up an appetite for lunch.

The Eagle Bay Brewery came highly recommended so we managed to get a table and enjoyed the food and the brews. We shared a pulled pork pizza, duck croquettes and a peanut/pumpkin dip…

Feeling a little full we did drive around and have a look at some of the stops around Eagle Bay.

We then returned to Camp Grace located on Géographe Bay about half way between Busselton and Dunsborough. After a walk along the beach we spent the rest of the afternoon doing a bit of ‘house keeping’ and planning for the nest stage towards Perth.
