Stay: Fremantle Village Caravan Park $38 powered site
It was a very brisk morning but by the time we had driven from Jarrahdale to Point Peron, Rockingham, the sun had come out.
We explored the point with its limestone rocky coast.
Then walked up to the WWII bunkers and gun emplacements.
As there aren’t too many hills here it seemed a popular spot for the locals to exercise. We stopped on the Rockingham foreshore and strolled up and down the jetty and then to the Catalpa Memorial (6 geese) for 6 Irish convicts that managed to escape on the American whaling ship the Catapla.
A little further we had a look at the Naval Memorial. The ship Mark’s Dad served on.
Submarine and Naval memorials
We then set our sights for the caravan park for our midday check in. Once settled in we decided to get our bearings of Fremantle and drive around having a look at a few places.

The Swan River..
Welcome home statue…
Arthur Head Lighthouse at mouth of Swan River.
One of the many lovely heritage buildings in town.
We were impressed with the War Memorials location on the top of Monument Hill.
At the Old Fremantle Prison we had a look in the museum.
We also did one of their tours, we chose the one about the Convict prisoners ($22ea).this was a high security prison until 1991..Unauthorised drawings were discovered under painted walls…
An inescapable room was designed with timber lining and steel rivets
As it was getting dark we made our way to the Little Creatures Brewery for a refreshing drink and some dinner… then rolled back to camp.
