Palace of Parliament Bucharest Romania

Travelled:174km
Stay: Cernavoda Romania- free parking area at the port on the Danube Canal to the Black Sea 44.348973,28.024756
Visited: Palace of Parliament Bucharest Roamania

It was a short 20mins walk from Bluey’s overnight spot to the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest. Yesterday we had rang and booked an English tour for 10am but managed to go to the 9:15am tour instead.

This building has an amazing amount of statistics..here are a few. It is the second largest administrative building in the world. The communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife were executed in1989 before the building was completed. It was built from mainly from Romanian materials. We visited only 3% of the building. There are 1,100 rooms...please look it up for more info.
We visited some beautiful halls that are now mostly used by the Parliament and can be hired out for functions...for a price.

The first person to wave from the balcony was none other than Micheal Jackson!

The only one person that has ever been allowed to marry in the Alexandra loan Cuza Hall was Olympic champion Nadia Comaneci.

The centre of the palace is directly under the chandelier

Once our visit was finished we returned to Bluey and made plans to head to the Black Sea but decided to stop along the way at Cernavoda.
