Celle Germany

We took the roads less travelled to Celle, but first we circumnavigated Lubeck to get to the service point.

We were astounded at the number of motorhomes parked up here and also across the river from where we were last night. There were 100’s of them!

We finished the circle around the town and then started heading south on smaller and slower roads to avoid the congestion around Hamburg.

3 hours later we eventually pulled up in Celle in a great parking spot close to historic centre.

An interesting assortment of goodies to buy from the vending machine.

The town prides itself with having more than 500 half-timbered houses. Essentially everywhere we looked we were surrounded by these colourful and interesting buildings.

The Town Hall was also very highly decorated in a different design.

The castle was rebuilt in 1533 with a Renaissance facade with octagonal towers.

The museum was also a lovely building.

We were also impressed with the small but different church interior. We were lucky that someone decided to play a tune in the organ whilst we were inside.

We returned to Bluey and did some planning, including booking our ferry to go to the UK. The countdown is on..

Our slow 194km day..
