Söll Austria

Travelled:101km Toll €11 Felbertauern Tunnel
Stay: Söll Austria -free parking at cable car, great views N47.4972 E12.1988
Visited: Mittersill, Kitzbuhel

It was a beautiful drive up to the 5.3km Felbertauern Tunnel built in 1967.

We paid the €11 toll and continued down the otherside to the pretty town of Mittersill.

We had a walk around, popping in to have a look at the church.

Interesting roundabout theme...

Mark finally bought a pair of lederhosen and we got some delicious apple strudel.

Then it was on the road again to Kitzbuhel with more amazing views.

This was a bigger town that had once been the winter sports capital of Austria. It had many lovely colourful buildings. In the medieval centre there were plenty of cafes and high end retail shops.

We also had a quick look in the church.

This part of Europe just loves automatic dispensers...here a candle one in the church grounds.

And this is to make sure you return the watering cans back to their rightful place!

We then continued onto Soll with more stunning views.

The town lies at the foot of Hohe Salve mountain which is popular in winter and summer. After lunch we enjoyed a lovely walk to a waterfall taking in more of the breathtaking valley and mountain views.

It wasn’t a great waterfall at this time of the year but the journey to get here was lovely.

We enjoyed sitting on a bench looking over the town and farm land like a scale model watching the world go by.
